The Gilded Age: A Tale of Yesterday
Saint Augustine, Florida in the age of gold.
ST. CYPRIAN PROTESTANT EPISCOPAL MISSION
The congregation of St. Cyprian's Episcopal Mission first formed and organized their church in 1893. The group moved around from place to place since they did not have a church of their own to call home. The church started off with just four families among its ranks; services were first held in Witsell's Hall which was located on Spanish Street. Following a brief stay on Spanish Street, the group moved to a location on Treasury Street, then Washington Street, and finally ending up in Odd Fellows Hall.
The current location was established in 1899 on Central Avenue, now Martin Luther King, through a donation of land given by Miss Emma White.
