The Gilded Age: A Tale of Yesterday
Saint Augustine, Florida in the age of gold.
GARDEN CLUB BUILDING / WATER WORKS
The building tat was once the first train station in St. Augustine has changed its hat many times over the years. Constructed in the 1880s, the building served its original purpose as a train station until Henry Flagler converted it into the city water works. The building remained in use as a water works until it was first abandoned in the 1920s. In 1965 the building was purchased and converted once again, this time being adopted as the new home of the St. Augustine Garden Club until it was once again abandoned in the early 2000s. Currently, the building is waiting to undergo a much needed renovation, which is still in its initial planning stage.
