NORTH CITY BAPTIST CHURCH

First organized in 1886, near its present day location, North City Baptist Church was among the many African American churches established in St. Augustine during the Gilded Age. During its time as a church the congregation moved around from time to time, as the only structure they had in the beginning was a wood frame building they had constructed by hand.

The North City Baptist Church still stands on Bernard Street, near the St. Augustine carousel, and regularly holds services.
