The original Mill Creek School was built in 1879, it was made out of logs, but later burned down and another school house was built in 1893. The third school house was built in 1914 and was also a one room school house with a single teacher. The only running water source at the time was a hand pump well in the yard. Electricity did not come to the Mill Creek School until 1948.
